New York State recently upgraded the points that would be assessed for use of a cell phone while you’re driving.
It’s now a five-point violation.
State law enforcement and courts are more aggressive than when the laws originally went into effect. Mainly, the change in response is due to the abilities of a cell phone compared to when the law began.
It is treated seriously and it’s important that you not only face devastating points, you also could be subject to serious fines.
